What to do if your car gets stuck in the snow - Don't panic and stay calm

Straightening the wheels will help to gain traction

Use the snow shovel to dig out snow from around the wheels and spread de-icing salt around the wheels.

Try and pull away slowly to allow for traction and prevent excessive wheel spinning. When you get moving, do not make a sudden increase or decrease in speed as you may become stuck again. Move slowly until you reach an area of clear road surfaces.

If all the above fails, call us on 01923 244 404 to tow you out and get you safely on your way.

In the meantime, do not sit in your car with the engine off and heating on full as this will drain your battery! Wrap yourself if a travel blanket to keep warm.
